The learning process does not stop in the classroom

The learning process does not stop in the classroom but expands to the community with the aim to find solutions to real problems.
Classroom lessons are a fundamental aspect to our school. This learning is supported by activities that see our children find solutions to real problems. This important aspect, both for the IB and the Ignatian pedagogy, is then formalised and recognised in the years of the Diploma through the compulsory hours of Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). ISP pupils learn effectively by identifying authentic problems in the community. This service allows them to recognize the needs of each member of the community that goes beyond their school life, and which makes them active in trying to create a better world, and a better city.

IB Diploma

The IB diploma, universally recognized as a program of excellence, allows the access to all major Italian and world universities. The International School Palermo is the only authorized school to offer the Diploma Programme in the south of Italy.

The IB Diploma (Diploma Programme) is an independent programme, which at ISP (International School Palermo) corresponds to the last two years of a four-year high school and which is accessible to any italian student who has completed the third year of high school and has a good level of english. The IB Diploma, authorized last June by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is the only one in the south of Italy and is now universally recognized as a program of excellence that allows the access to all major Italian and world universities. At ISP the equivalent study course of the scientific and human sciences high school has guaranteed.

This is a completion of a scholastic course that, from the nursery to high school, counts about 190 among italian and foreign students. The Diploma counts 15 students from different countries (Philippines, Sri Lanka, United States, Germany and Brazil) that contribute to make the environment multicultural. “We are happy to be able to offer an educational proposal of such a high level to our city and the whole Sicily, at the service of integration among different cultures” states Father Vitangelo Carlo Maria Denora, the ISP Director.
